1980 – 1987 : DIRECTOR OF COACHING
Western Province Rugby Football Union. (SA)
(Full time position – 8 years)
Duties :
•
The marketing and development of rugby at all levels in the Western Province i.e. primary schools (110), high schools (65), clubs (50).
•
Coaching courses for primary schools, high school and club coaches.
•
Coaching clinics for players of all age groups.
•
Mini – Rugby Tournaments.
•
Technical assistance to all the coaches of the various provincial teams i.e. W.P. u.13, W.P u.19, W.P. u.20, W.P. Juniors, W.P. League, W.P. B xv, W.P. A.
•
Also secretary of the W.P. Referees Society for three years.
Note: WP won the Currie Cup 5 times during this period (Dawie Snyman was the head coach)

1988 / 1992 / 93 : SENIOR COACH
VILLAGER RUGBY FOOTBALL CLUB (SA)

Highlights:
1988: 1st team finished second in Grand Challenge Competition. 1992: 1st team finished third in Grand Challenge Competition.
1993: 1st team qualified to play in the National Toyota Club Championship.
1989 – 1991 : SENIOR COACH
Eastern Province Rugby Football Union. (SA)
(Full time position - 3 years)
Duties:
•
Senior Coach of the Eastern Province Rugby Team which was part of the Currie Cup, Lion Cup and Yardley Cup competitions of the South African Rugby Football Union.
•
Duties also included the marketing of the stadium and development of rugby at all levels in the Eastern Province.
Highlights:
•
During my three years with the E.P.R.F.U. their senior team won the Yardley Cup. This was the first cup they had won in 103 years of E.P. Rugby.

1991 : COACH OF THE SOUTH TEAM (SA)
In 1991, I was appointed the Coach of the South Team (Best players from W.P., E.P. and Natal provincial teams) who played the annual match against the North Team (players from the O.F.S, Transvaal and Northern Transvaal provincial teams).

Highlights:
1992: Winners of the S.A. Cup

Highlights:
1994: W.P. finished third in the Currie Cup Competition and qualified for the Super-10 competition.
Played the Lion Cup Final.
1995: W.P. played in the Super-10 competition.
Played in the Currie Cup Final 1996: W.P. played in the Super-12 competition.
Played in the quarter-final of the Currie Cup competition.
